Today let’s talk about what a Neurofeedback session is like. In this post, I have included a video from my YouTube channel that is an oldie but a goodie. In it, I discuss the fundamentals of a Neurofeedback session to improve ADHD, Anxiety, and More.
Neurofeedback is a technology that meets neuroscience that can heal the nervous system for the inside out. It analyzes your brain and then makes your brain work better by teaching it to produce more of the brain speed that creates calm and focus. What do you have to do within the session? Nothing particular. Just relax. relaxing your mind and body is the most efficient way to get an effective Neurofeedback session. While you relax, your brain uses neuroplasticity to change and improve itself.
What Does Neurofeedback Feel Like?
It doesn’t feel like anything while you are in a session. For most people, that is. Once you get better at controlling your brain, then you can feel yourself becoming calmer and more focused in a session. It feels like a wave of calm through your nervous system That is just my way of explaining it, but many others have agreed.
What is The Neurofeedback Computer System Like?
It looks unassuming. It looks just like a laptop computer but…. it is connected to a very special high-tech. transmitter that can train your brain while you watch a movie. You can see in the video below that as you relax and watch the movie, the screen and the audio are dimming and brightening based upon your brain’s performance. When your brain is in the zone of calm focus, the screen plays bright and the audio louder. When your brain goes into a distracted or stressed state, the screen dims. Over time your brain learns to produce the calm and focused mode more often. This alleviates symptoms and you feel and perform better permanently.
How Long Does a Neurofeedback Session Last?
Our sessions are 37 minutes in duration. It takes approximately 4 minutes to connect you to the Neurofeedback system and then 3 minutes to disconnect you. The rest of the time you are on the system receiving your brain training session for 30 minutes.
We always run on time. As a mom of 5 kids, if I had to wait 30 minutes for a 30-minute session, it would be a deal-breaker. We make sure we are serving you well.
Neurofeedback has been shown to have great benefits for attention, focus, and anxiety.
