Dr. Trish Leigh, Ph.D., CCC-SLP, BCN is considered a thought leader in educating people on how their brain’s work, and how they can utilize brain-based therapies, as well as do-it-yourself strategies, to make their brain work better. When your brain works better, so does your body, by improving physical and thought processes to perform better.

What Does Dr. Trish Leigh Do?

Dr. Leigh has been serving people with a wide variety of challenges since 1995 and is trained in 2 Ph.D. areas; Child Language Development and Disorders, and Cognitive Science. Dr. Leigh uses this training to help children and adults to improve their brain functioning to achieve their goals at school, work, and at play. Helping people improve how their brain works is Dr. Trish Leigh’s mission. Dr. Trish is the brain health educator and spends time with each family teaching them how their brains work and how they can be made to work better. She works with her husband, Dr. Cosmas Leigh, D.C., and the rest of the team at Leigh Brain & Spine to help move people’s brain performance in the positive direction so they can achieve their full potential and better quality of life.

what Are Dr. Trish Leigh’s Credentials?

Dr. Leigh has earned 4 college degrees, including a Ph.D. in Communicative Disorders and Sciences, and Master of Arts in Speech-Language Pathology, a Master of Education in Educational Leadership, and a Bachelor of Science Degree in Speech-Language Pathology. She is licensed by the state of North Carolina as a Speech-Language Pathologist and holds the Certificate of Clinical Competence, CCC, from the American Speech-Language-Hearing Association.

Additionally, Dr. Leigh has earned credentials in many advanced training and certifications including Brain Health Coach Certification through the Amen Clinics, Board Certification in Neurofeedback through The Biofeedback Certification Alliance, and Childhood Developmental Learning Disabilities and Behavioral Disorders Certification Course through the International Association of Functional Neurology and Rehabilitation. She uses an integrated, neuroscientific, educational approach to help families in Chapel Hill and surrounding areas navigate the intricacies of their challenges and provide solutions to help them achieve their functional goals.

It means that Dr. Trish Leigh has a great deal of education and experience in a variety of areas. She brings all of this expertise to people to help them learn how their brains work, what they can do to make them work better, and to keep their brains calm and focused for a lifetime. 

Dr. Leigh is originally from Buffalo, NY and was made a Visiting Scholar in the Neuroscience Department at UNC-Chapel Hill upon her arrival in the Chapel Hill, NC area. She holds a position as an adjunct Professor in the School of Medicine.

Unlike many doctors, Dr. Leigh is a skilled clinician, scientist, educator, and professional presenter. She is actively involved in helping families in her office, researching and writing on neurological regulation, and is a professional presenter in her areas of expertise.

In her leisure time, Dr. Leigh relaxes and has fun with her husband and 6 children, loves to read, do yoga, and just chill with friends on the porch.
